Dear Parents,

Your child will now have access to “Typing Agent”, a fun, web based keyboarding program that is used @ STS.  I have created a username and  password for each student. 

Please assist your child with the first log in and be sure to bookmark the site and save the password  for easy access.

It is important for your child to complete the Diagnostic test first. This Diagnostic test is very important as it will show your child's' progress over time. If your child presses one letter accurately every minute, they will pass the test. The test is two minutes long. The main point here is that they do not press random letters incorrectly to get to the end of the test as they will have to redo it.

Celebrating Earth Day 2020

Dear Students and Parents,

I hope that everyone had a Joyous Easter and a restful break from school! I enjoyed viewing your beautiful Easter projects - you all did a great job!

In remembrance of Earth Day 2020, I have selected special activities for all grades:

Dear Students and Parents,

There will be no new Computer assignments posted for Holy Week. 

I am receiving many beautiful "Word Clouds" and am happy to see that so many of you are continuing to practice and complete your Keyboarding  Activities and Skills in Typing Agent. Please complete your Word Clouds and Wixie projects that I posted. Your assignments are posted in my teacher blog and also in the Google Classroom. Your will receive credit for all assignments that you submit.

Computer Class News

Good Morning STS Students and Parents,

I see that many of our students are practicing their keyboarding skills with Typing Agent, math skills in Prodigy and creating Wixie projects. I am able to remotely monitor and check your progress, and in Wixie, I can view all your work. For our older students, there is a detailed procedure to submit Wixie projects to the Google Classroom that I will share with all. 

A fun activity for this week will be Creating an Easter/Spring Word Cloud . This can be found in ABCya.com, search Word Clouds in the search box. The Word Clouds will contain words that describe Easter, Spring, and "Happy Thoughts".  After the words are entered, choose "Create" to view the Word Cloud.  You can change the font, color and design. The activity can be saved and printed .

I would love to see your creations! If possible, email me a photo or file of your Word Clouds.

I have selected some fun activities for you to do using "Wixie"-they can be found in your folders after you log in.

Grade 2:  "Scratch" a Spring picture, using the eraser tool

Grades 3-5: "My Wish"

Grades 6-8: "Digital Footprint"

Of course you can use Wixie to always create your own project- take your own photo and record your voice, add music and have fun!
